There’s no such thing as “The Perfect Time”

How many of us stop ourselves from doing something or contemplate and worry about making a decision because maybe “its not the right time”. Procrastination at its finest, We delay things or put them off because maybe its not the right time and somehow convince ourselves that later (whenever that may be) will be a better time to get it done.

The typical “I’ll start the diet on Monday”. Because apparently Mondays are a perfect time to start a diet and you couldn’t possibly start on Wednesday afternoon. I say this with hint of sarcasm because a lot of us have this mentality, even myself at times but seriously, we are delaying our own growth!

Don’t get me wrong, setting a time and a date that you want to do something is fine, but if you’re going to do that, make it sure you get it done. Because there really is no such thing as the perfect time. We so often make excuses; we don’t do the things we want to do and aren’t disciplined enough to make a decision and stick to it. There will always be some kind of obstacle in your way but these things are life’s test. How you handle them will differentiate you to the next person who puts something off.

“You’re Not living your Dreams because you’re too busy living your fears”

“What if I start that project and it all fails”. “What if I put in all my hard work and nothing comes off it”. “What if I tell him that I like him and he doesn’t like me back”. “What if I change my diet and exercise more but I don’t lose any weight.” You are literally living your fears by worrying about all the negative things that could happen instead of actually trying. If you fail, take the lesson and redirect on to something even better. Girl, ain't no one tell us that life was going to be easy. Its meant to be hard, its meant to push limits and that’s how we get to the next stage.

The biggest hurdle we have in starting something, is exactly that… Starting it!. You have to make a decision to take a step and stick to it. Learn to trust yourself, build on the act of doing. When I say all this, it could be something on such a small scale in life, like tiding your room or having a big clear out. How many times have you thought to yourself lately “I need a spring clean” but seem to always put it off for next weekend (Or even next winter)? These small-scale things can make a big difference on how you feel and then actually get you pumped to doing more. Remember that our success will originate from our daily routine. So make the changes necessary in your day to day and turn the small wins into big ones. Start tiding your room and then start that project you been thinking of.

Remember, there is no such thing as the perfect time. Start now and figure things out as you go.

Here are 6 simple ways to stop procrastinating and get things done.
  1. Make a list of the things you were going to do tomorrow or the future.
  2. Choose one thing on that list and go and do it NOW.
  3. Stop trying to be perfect straight away. Your effort is what matters, perfecting something comes with time.
  4. Ask yourself what's the worst that could happen if you started to work on the rest of this list.
  5. Imagine how you will feel once you have all these things done or are actively working on them.
  6. Stop procrastinating and go get 'em!

I mean after all, that's how I started this this blog.

  3. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this topic to be actually something that I think I would
never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang
    of it!

Its not as simple of “easy” but there are things we can do to make it easier! There really is no such thing as the perfect time, so we have to learn to get things done anyway. Some aspects are easier than others, but the key is to keep going, keep trying and not giving up. Is there any part of it that you struggle with in particular?
